General Orthopaedic Surgery position at UPMC in Altoona, PA

Our organization is seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon with a focus on General Orthopedics to join a well-established practice that boasts a robust patient volume. This practice receives referrals from over 70 primary care physicians as well as the emergency and trauma departments of the hospital. Candidates must possess an MD or equivalent degree, be board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery, and have the capability to secure an unrestricted license to practice in Pennsylvania.

Position Overview:

• Become part of a comprehensive practice that includes 5 orthopedic surgeons, 7 Physician Assistants, and a physician specializing in non-surgical sports medicine.
• Participate in trauma call on a 1:6 rotation.
• Engage in practice call on a 1:5 rotation.
• Utilize in-office imaging and a PACS/EMR system.
• Work in a newly built 90,000 square foot medical office complex.
• The hospital features 12 operating rooms, while the Ambulatory Surgery Center has 6 operating rooms.
