Accounts Payable & Purchasing Specialist

Construction Trades Services, Inc. (CTS) is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Accounts Payable & Purchasing Specialist to join our growing construction team.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys staying organized, solving discrepancies, and keeping accounting and purchasing processes moving. CTS processes approximately 7,400 vendor invoices and 1,200 Purchase Orders annually, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable managing a steady workload while maintaining accuracy and follow-through.

What You'll Do

• Process and enter vendor invoices into Sage 100 Contractor
• Verify job, cost code, Purchase Order, and supporting documentation
• Match invoices to POs and investigate discrepancies
• Reconcile vendor statements and research missing invoices, credits, and duplicate charges
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and organized AP documentation
• Prepare invoices for management's final payment review
• Assist with vendor setup, 1099 preparation, and month-end/year-end AP tasks
• Create and issue Purchase Orders for approved purchases
• Place routine authorized orders with established vendors
• Maintain accurate PO records and documentation
• Communicate with vendors, Project Managers, Foremen, Estimating, and Accounting to resolve issues

Management retains final approval of invoices, payment selection, check issuance, and electronic payments.

What We're Looking For

• Previous Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, purchasing, or accounting experience
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organization and follow-through
• Ability to manage deadlines and a consistent transaction volume
• Comfortable researching and resolving discrepancies
• Professional communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Office and general computer skills
• Experience with accounting or ERP software

• SharePoint or electronic document-management systems

Schedule & Benefits

• Full-time position
• Monday through Friday
• 5-day workweek
• $24.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Benefits available to eligible full-time employees
