BrightSpring Health Service is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our team on a year-round basis. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented and motivated accounting student eager to gain practical experience in a dynamic corporate accounting environment. The intern will support the Corporate Accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and participating in the monthly close process.
The intern will also assist with managing billing and cost reports for the Department of Labor, analyzing financial data, supporting external audits, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal policies. This hands-on role offers exposure to Oracle Fusion and capital expenditure processes, providing a well-rounded foundation in corporate finance.
ResponsibilitiesCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university Majoring in Accounting or a related field Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) Completion of introductory accounting courses required No prior work experience necessary, though basic knowledge of accounting principles is expected Familiarity with accounting software such as Oracle Fusion, QuickBooks, or Xero is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Solid analytical and mathematical skills Ability to interpret and work with technical financial documentation Capable of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively Comfortable adapting to new tools and technologies in a fast-paced environment Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
