As a member of MUFG's project finance team, you will support the origination, structuring, and execution of debt project financing across power, natural resources, and infrastructure in North America and LatAm. You will model complex financials, conduct due diligence, and advise clients on optimal financial structures, collaborating with cross-functional teams. - Conduct detailed analysis and due diligence for new opportunities in North America and LatAm in power, natural resources, and infrastructure
- Model complex financial projections in Excel, including cash flows, debt financing, and tax structures
- Review market studies, engineering reports, financial models, financial statements, project contracts, and legal analyses
- Review information about project assets, development plans, and commercial arrangements
- Analyze credit documentation, term sheets, and coordinate with bank products (Loans, Interest Rates Swaps, Foreign Exchange and Bonds) to meet client needs
- Understand and negotiate covenants in financing documents related to financial ratios and reporting
- Prepare documentation summarizing opportunity analysis, financial results, and risk analysis for senior management
- Support deals from origination to closing and liaise with Portfolio Group using project finance knowledge
- Advise clients on commercial/financial structure and operating requirements for non-recourse debt financing
- Prepare marketing materials using PowerPoint and Word for opportunities in relevant sectors
- Analyze new transactions and prepare credit applications with financial projections for credit review and approval
- Oversee internal processes for compliance and execution, including KYC, profitability analysis, approvals, due diligence, and closing checklists
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Engineering, or related field
- Experience developing project finance models with Excel and strong quantitative/credit risk analysis skills
- At least 1 year of Financial Services experience, preferably in project finance
- Experience with project finance transactions in power, natural resources, energy, or transportation infrastructure
