In this role, you lead the analytics function for Wiley Research, shaping the agenda to turn data into strategic guidance for leadership. You will drive commercial analytics, governance, and insights that inform where to invest and how to improve performance across geographies and products. You'll partner with cross functional teams to translate complex data into clear recommendations and build a trusted, centralized view of Research performance. - Define and own the analytics strategy for Wiley Research, aligning with EVP and GM priorities and building a capability roadmap.
- Deliver advanced commercial analysis to identify growth opportunities and retention risks before they surface.
- Establish a credible analytics function by recruiting or developing talent to build organizational analytical capacity.
- Lead the development of competitive intelligence and market analysis by synthesizing external data with internal performance signals.
- Translate complex analytics into concise narratives for senior audiences to drive decision making.
- Evolve KPI framework and standardize metrics across regions, teams, products, and customer segments.
- Develop and maintain executive dashboards and real-time performance reporting for informed leadership decisions.
- Provide scenario modeling and competitive benchmarking to shape commercial strategy.
- Drive data-driven decision making and ensure consistent definitions and measurement standards across markets and units.
- Foster governance and data quality initiatives, establishing a single source of truth and partnering to close data gaps.
- Mentor analytical talent, promoting a culture of evidence-based decision making across Research.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in commercial analytics, strategy, or business intelligence.
- Proven track record in leading or building a commercial analytics function with KPI frameworks and executive dashboards.
- Experience elevating analytics in a complex, matrixed organization with governance responsibilities.
- Deep expertise in commercial performance measurement, KPI design, and translating analytics into executive decisions.
- Experience partnering with Finance on revenue reporting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Ability to navigate distributed data ownership and drive governance improvements without direct authority.
- Exceptional communication and executive presence; able to present board-quality insights.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders across functions without direct authority.
- Proficiency with analytics/tools such as Salesforce, Gainsight, BigQuery, Power BI, or equivalents.
- Ambiguity tolerance and action bias; comfortable building operating models from scratch.
