Overview

In this role you own development and production cost estimations for products from concept to development, translating engineering challenges into quantitative, financially-relevant insights. You'll partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver cost models and scalable solutions that support decision-making and long-term value. Expect to tackle ambiguous problems with scrappy analyses and to drive transparency in material costs and cost-reduction initiatives. You will present findings to stakeholders and work with Engineering and Supply Chain to shape product viability and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Own should-cost models end-to-end, from data gathering to presenting to stakeholders
• Build parametric cost models breaking products into first principles including capability and physics
• Forecast product business case viability, opportunities, and risks across the lifecycle
• Develop and implement cost reduction roadmaps with Engineering and Supply Chain
• Create frameworks for a strong value engineering culture
• Provide cost targets and transparency for existing and future products
• Lead cross-functional discussions to balance features, costs, and profitability
• Manage projects across many stakeholders and communicate with senior leadership

Key requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing finance, engineering finance, or an engineering role
• Strong understanding of mathematics or model building
• Proficiency in Excel for rapid analyses
• Ability to quantify complex, ambiguous problems
• Interest in the intersection of engineering design and business growth
• Comfortable communicating to large groups and senior leadership
• U.S. Person due to export control requirements
