Overview

SMU seeks a strategic, collaborative Senior Vice President for Business and Finance and CFO to translate institutional ambition into financial strength. In this role you will oversee finance and planning, human resources, facilities planning and management, campus services, risk management, University Police, and contracts administration, ensuring alignment with the university's academic mission. You will partner with the President and senior leaders to shape financial strategy, capital planning, and operational excellence across the university. This pivotal position supports SMU's growth and enhances campus environment, safety, and institutional effectiveness while helping to elevate the U.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Finance and Planning, Human Resources, Facilities Planning and Management, Campus Services, Risk Management, University Police, and Contracts Administration.
• Align financial strategy, capital planning, and administrative effectiveness with institutional priorities and the academic mission.
• Act as a trusted partner to the President, Executive Vice President and Provost, Board leadership, and senior colleagues to drive decisions.
• Shape operational excellence and financial health to support long-term impact and growth.
