Overview

As Director in Baker Tilly's Office of the CFO, you lead high-impact FP&A and finance transformation work for growth-focused clients, partnering with CFOs and PE sponsors. You shape end-to-end finance capabilities and drive value creation post-investment. You'll manage complex engagements, build scalable methodologies, and mentor teams while collaborating across service lines. This is a high-growth role in a fast-paced firm offering visibility to leadership and a path toward Principal.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as trusted advisor to CFOs and senior executives on FP&A and finance transformation engagements
  • Lead complex engagements across interim FP&A leadership, stand-up of FP&A functions, budgeting/forecasting, and long-range planning
  • Develop and automate management reporting; create KPI frameworks and dashboards (Power BI)
  • Support value creation initiatives for PE-backed portfolio companies, including cash flow optimization
  • Oversee engagement quality, timing, and profitability across multiple projects
  • Help define and scale FP&A capabilities and develop standardized methodologies and accelerators
  • Drive business development through client relationships, proposals, and market-facing content
  • Lead and mentor team members, balancing hands-on work with leadership and coaching
  • Collaborate across service lines to deliver integrated solutions
  • possess strong client relationship management and executive communication skills
Key requirements
  • 10-15+ years of relevant experience
  • Big 4 or national firm experience plus corporate FP&A or finance leadership roles
  • Experience with private equity environments and PE-backed portfolios
  • CPA, CMA, CFA or similar credentials strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated finance transformation and FP&A build-out experience
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities; advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with FP&A analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Anaplan, Adaptive) preferred
  • Excellent communication and executive presence; ability to influence C-suite
  • Strong project management and ability to manage multiple complex engagements
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and liquidity/cash management
  • Ability to travel
