Hotel Director of Finance Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot

As Hotel Director of Finance, you lead the property's financial strategy to optimize profitability and ensure financial integrity. You partner with the General Manager and executive team to drive strategic decisions and performance improvements. You own budgeting, reporting, controls, and cash flow, translating data into actionable guidance. You will shape financial performance across operations, balancing risk with opportunity while aligning with corporate standards. This role offers high-impact leadership in a collaborative, performance-driven hotel environment.

• Oversee financial statement preparation and analysis, ensuring accuracy of balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow.
• Manage income audit, controls, and the integrity of revenue reporting across systems.
• Lead month-end close, journal entries, and variance analysis against budget and prior year.
• Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management with strong internal controls.
• Coordinate annual budgeting, forecast refinement, and partner with leaders to improve financial planning.
• Oversee collections, credit policies, and direct billing processes, including use of external agencies when needed.
• Provide financial guidance to maximize labor efficiency, operating expenses, and revenue opportunities.
• Serve as trusted advisor to GM and executive committee, delivering clear financial insights and recommendations.
• Develop and mentor the accounting team, ensuring high performance and adherence to procedures.

• 7-10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in hospitality
• Strong expertise in financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial controls
• Experience overseeing AP, AR, income audit, and general ledger operations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into recommendations
• Proven ability to build credibility with ownership and executives and to lead and develop others
• Excellent organization and time management with ability to meet deadlines
• Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
