Overview

In this role you will support a major client-service team within Real Estate Solutions, focusing on tax advisory and compliance for real estate clients including REITs and private equity funds. You will oversee day-to-day workflow, manage client relationships, and contribute to high-quality tax guidance under GAAP considerations. The position blends growth opportunities with hands-on client service in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful tax solutions at scale.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of real estate clients and serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders
• Lead a tax team of professionals on client projects
• Manage risk and financial performance of engagements
• Advise clients on transactions and tax issues and deliver high-quality tax service
• Participate in training and contribute to planning training content
• Engage in market and business activities external to the firm to promote FTI
• Maintain understanding of GAAP concepts related to mortgage REITs and PE debt funds

Key requirements

• 5+ years of real estate industry tax experience
• CPA license
• Graduate or undergraduate degree in Accounting
• Travel to client sites and FTI offices as needed
• U.S. work authorization (no visa sponsorship)
• 6+ years total experience preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
• Taxation of REITs, Partnerships, and other flow-through entities
• Taxation of financial products in credit markets
• U.S. Withholding Tax for funds and non-U.S. partners
