We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support equipment design, mechanical systems, production operations, and continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and improve mechanical components, equipment, and production systems.
Analyze mechanical systems, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes to minimize equipment downtime.
Support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and modification of manufacturing equipment.
Develop and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and CAD models.
Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and operations teams to improve manufacturing processes.
Lead mechanical engineering projects focused on productivity, reliability, safety, and cost reduction.
Evaluate equipment performance and recommend design or process improvements.
Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding equipment specifications, technical issues, and project requirements.
Maintain engineering documentation, equipment records, and technical reports.
Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and workplace safety requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, equipment design, or industrial operations.
Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, machine components, and manufacturing equipment.
Understanding of preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical design principles, and engineering standards.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Must be willing to travel for training, corporate meetings, and supplier support.
Must be available to work different shifts when required for projects, scheduled shutdowns, or critical equipment issues.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, GMP, HACCP, and OSHA safety standards is a plus.
