We are working with a private company in the Baltimore Metro area with an international presence that needs to hire an interim accounting manager to help with reporting, month-end close, and fixed assets.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end oversight of financial processes, including recording journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and revenue
• Knowledge of fixed asset accounting
• Proficient in developing Excel schedules and financial workpapers
• Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies
• Provide analytical review and fluctuation analysis to support periodic activity
• Identify internal control gaps and implement controls within the finance, business, or accounting organizations to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Review new business contracts and assess their operational and accounting impact
• Experience in researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
• Provide direct support to external auditors during walkthroughs, testing of controls, and substantive testing
• Ability to work independently with close attention to detail
