- Lead design and delivery of Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations for actionable insights
- Own end-to-end BI lifecycle: requirements, data modeling, ETL, testing and deployment
- Write and optimize complex SQL/T-SQL queries; design scalable data models
- Architect and maintain data pipelines/warehouses using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Snowflake or BigQuery as applicable
- Establish BI governance, metadata management, and MDM practices to ensure data quality and security
- Define and maintain KPI and dashboard standards; translate requirements into measurable metrics
- Implement CI/CD and source control (Git, Azure DevOps) for BI artifacts; manage deployments
- Monitor performance, address scaling issues, and optimize data models and reports
- Integrate diverse data sources (REST APIs, cloud databases, third-party systems) and oversee data integration
- Lead, mentor, and grow the BI team; promote self-service analytics and stakeholder engagement
- Collaborate with data science to enable analytics and prototype ML/advanced analytics when needed
- Evaluate new BI/analytics technologies to improve platform and architecture
- Ensure data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance in collaboration with IT/compliance teams
- 5+ years in Business Intelligence with proven Power BI and SQL experience
- 2+ years in a people or project leadership role
- Strong expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query) and semantic/tabular data models
- Proven ability to design and optimize relational/analytic data models; T-SQL; Azure SQL/SQL Server
- Experience with data warehouses and ETL (SSIS, Azure Data Factory); knowledge of SSAS/SSRS
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery)
- Experience with data governance, metadata management, MDM, and data quality practices
- Hands-on with source control (Git), Azure DevOps, and CI/CD for BI deployments; Agile/SCRUM
- Basic familiarity with Python or R and foundational ML concepts
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills
- Dashboard design, KPI development, data visualization best practices
- Nice-to-have: Microsoft Data Analyst/Azure Data Engineer, SnowPro or equivalent certifications
