Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments and mental health screenings to identify the needs of students and craft personalized treatment plans.

  • Deliver short-term individual counseling sessions, crisis intervention, and support for students facing various emotional challenges, including anxiety, depression, and stress.

  • Facilitate engaging therapy groups and workshops that focus on essential topics like emotional regulation, social skills, and academic pressure, promoting personal development.

  • Collaborate with educators, school counselors, and administrative staff to ensure a holistic approach to student mental health care.

  • Participate in outreach initiatives including wellness events and mental health awareness programs designed to educate both students and their families.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of patient interactions and comply with all ethical and legal guidelines in documentation.

  • Utilize telehealth technologies effectively to provide accessible mental health services to students, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported from a distance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position involves working primarily with students who may face a variety of mental health issues—ranging from anxiety and depression to more severe emotional disturbances. Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State License as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline; a Master's or Doctoral degree is strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and school staff to facilitate counselor-centered care.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster trusting relationships with students and families.

  • Knowledge of culturally competent therapeutic interventions and methodologies tailored for youth populations.

  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices and interventions pertinent to school counseling.

  • Background in crisis intervention and experience with emergency response protocols.
