Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of clients to accurately identify their mental health needs, followed by the development of individualized treatment plans tailored to each person's unique circumstances.

  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic services using a variety of techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), to effectively address a wide range of mental health issues.

  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists and case managers, to ensure holistic and cohesive care for all clients.

  • Offer crisis intervention and immediate support to clients facing acute distress or emergencies, using your expertise to navigate potentially challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.

  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote mental health awareness, educate the public, and reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will engage with a diverse client population, providing care to individuals of varying ages, backgrounds, and mental health challenges. This role requires cultural competence and sensitivity, as you will be helping clients from various ethnicities and socioeconomic statuses, enhancing your clinical experience while also fostering a broader understanding of mental health.

Qualifications

  • A current and active license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

  • A master’s degree or doctoral degree in relevant fields such as Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish therapeutic relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions and treatment plans.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in community mental health settings, particularly with underrepresented or marginalized populations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities that enhance client outcomes.

  • Experience with teletherapy platforms and virtual counseling tools to effectively engage with clients in a remote setting.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to USD 100,000, commensurate with your level of experience and credentials.
