Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the needs, symptoms, and psychosocial dynamics of children and adolescents.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that consider individual developmental stages, family backgrounds, and cultural factors.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, and family therapy, to address various mental health issues.
- Facilitate family therapy sessions, equipping parents and caregivers with strategies to foster a nurturing environment that supports their children's mental health.
- Collaborate with our child psychiatry team and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive treatment approach for each patient.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, employing skills in de-escalation and immediate therapeutic support.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health diagnoses, treatment options, and available community resources, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
- Maintain precise and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, using our electronic health record (EHR) system for case management.
- Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights and challenging cases to enhance collective knowledge and skills.
- Commit to staying current with developments in child and adolescent psychiatry by engaging in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
Your primary focus will be on young individuals, specifically children and adolescents, who face a diverse range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. Understanding the unique developmental and emotional needs of this population is crucial in providing effective and empathetic care. You will play an essential role in helping to foster emotional resilience and promote positive mental health practices in both your patients and their families.
Qualifications- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Illinois.
- At least two years of post-licensure experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities unique to child and adolescent populations.
- Proven experience in providing individual and family therapy services to young clients.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and child-centered approach.
- Ability to build rapport with children, adolescents, and their families, fostering trust and a therapeutic alliance.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and related software applications.
- A collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for being part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience in telehealth services or a virtual therapy setting.
- Background in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care approaches.
- Familiarity with community resources and referral networks tailored for children and families.
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
