Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings of clients' mental health concerns to develop personalized treatment plans that reflect their needs and goals.

  • Create individualized therapy programs that utilize evidence-based practices to address specific mental health challenges.

  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, adapting therapeutic techniques to accommodate diverse client backgrounds and experiences.

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, and case managers to deliver holistic, integrated care tailored to each client.

  • Educate clients' families about mental health issues, empowering them to be active participants in the healing process.

  • Maintain meticulous and confidential client records, adhering to the highest regulatory and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on adults and families experiencing a wide range of mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other behavioral challenges. Our clients come from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, allowing you to expand your cultural competence and address multifaceted issues within mental health. Your interventions will directly contribute to improving their overall well-being and quality of life.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • A valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in mental health counseling.

  • A solid understanding of evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster rapport with clients.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Experience working with hospice or palliative care clients, enhancing sensitivity to end-of-life issues.

  • Specialized training in trauma-informed care or other advanced therapeutic techniques.

  • A proven track record of creating effective treatment plans that lead to positive client outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits
