Academic Physicians - Pediatric Nephrology

Salary Range:

  • Assistant Professor: $178,500 - $209,800 annually
  • Associate Professor: $214,300 - $268,000 annually
  • Professor: $272,600 - $346,300 annually

Our organization is seeking full-time faculty members at various academic ranks for the Department of Pediatrics, specifically within the Section of Nephrology and Comer Children's Hospital. Ideal candidates will possess expertise in managing all types of kidney diseases in children, including those with End Stage Renal Disease. Responsibilities will encompass patient care at both Comer Children's Hospital and additional off-site locations in the Chicago area. Furthermore, appointees will engage in teaching and mentoring trainees and students, as well as participating in scholarly activities. The academic rank and salary will be determined based on qualifications. These roles come with eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package.

Comer Children's Hospital is recognized as an integrated facility providing a full range of pediatric services, featuring a total of 172 beds across general pediatrics, NICU, and PICU. The Department of Pediatrics boasts over 170 full-time faculty members and postdoctoral researchers. Our faculty is dedicated to educating medical students, residents, and fellows while also conducting innovative translational and clinical research.

Qualifications: To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria before commencing employment:

  • Possess a medical doctorate or equivalent degree
  • Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in Illinois
  • Be Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatric Nephrology or a related field
  • Have prior experience in clinical, translational, or laboratory-based research
