Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions using research-backed therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions.

  • Assess client needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and document progress based on comprehensive clinical evaluations.

  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization support during acute episodes, ensuring client safety and immediate care.

  • Foster dynamic therapeutic relationships within sessions, offering empathy and active listening to encourage client engagement and growth.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and practice standards.

  • Participate in regular case reviews, contributing to a collaborative team approach aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

  • Educate clients and families about mental health conditions and coping strategies, empowering them with strategies for management outside of therapy sessions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily serves adults and adolescents facing a variety of mental health challenges including, but not limited to, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. As a counselor, you will approach each case with a trauma-informed perspective to understand and address the complex factors influencing your clients’ mental health. Additionally, clients may present with co-occurring disorders, requiring an integrated approach to their care.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.

  • An active Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the state of Georgia.

  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in mental health counseling, demonstrating a solid foundation in therapeutic practices.

  • Proficiency in providing individual, family, and group therapy, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practices.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, alongside strong empathy and active listening capabilities.

  • Ability to work autonomously while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with telehealth platforms and virtual counseling delivery.

  • Familiarity with a range of therapeutic modalities and the ability to implement them effectively in varied client scenarios.

  • Past work experience in diverse settings, such as outpatient clinics, community health organizations, or private practices.

Compensation and Benefits
