Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' mental health needs using standardized methodologies and tailored approaches.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that encompass evidence-based practices to achieve desired mental health outcomes.
- Facilitate supportive counseling sessions, utilizing active listening and therapeutic techniques to empower clients to achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, including case managers and psychiatrists, to provide integrated care and share vital client information.
- Provide education and resources to clients and their families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available community resources.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, workshop opportunities, and best practices to continually enhance your knowledge and service delivery.
The clients you will support include diverse populations dealing with varying mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. A fundamental aspect of your role will be to provide culturally competent care tailored to the unique circumstances of each individual and their family systems.
Qualifications- A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a closely related field.
- A valid and unrestricted mental health license in the state of New York (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC).
- Proven experience in mental health counseling with at least two years of direct clinical practice.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to connect empathetically with clients.
- Proficiency in utilizing telehealth platforms and electronic health records to manage client information efficiently.
- Experience in a community health clinic environment, providing services to diverse populations.
- Familiarity with specific therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Trauma-Informed Care.
- Prior involvement in multidisciplinary team settings, enhancing collaborative care.
