The Contemporary Trauma Mental Clinic is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team in a full-time, remote role. Work Environment
This position operates in a telehealth setting, allowing for a flexible work-life balance while ensuring that our clinicians can reach clients wherever they are. While the core working hours are from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, applicants should be prepared for some flexibility in scheduling to meet the evolving needs of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health evaluations to assess individuals' trauma histories and formulate relevant treatment plans.
- Design and execute individualized treatment strategies focused on trauma recovery and the development of resilience skills.
- Employ evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.
- Provide both individual and group therapy sessions, promoting an environment where patients can process their trauma and develop effective coping mechanisms.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams to provide an integrated approach to patient care, ensuring comprehensive treatment plans.
- Deliver crisis intervention services during trauma-related emergencies, offering immediate support to patients in distress.
- Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and available resources to aid in the recovery process.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Engage in regular case consultations and participate in team meetings and professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care.
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance therapeutic interventions.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your work will focus on a diverse array of clients, primarily those grappling with the lasting effects of trauma. Qualifications
- A master's or doctorate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- A current and valid state license as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or PsyD is essential.
- Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and experiences in trauma-informed therapy techniques.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that reflect a sympathetic and nonjudgmental approach to client interaction.
- The ability to manage high-pressure situations with composure and clarity.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience in a mental health setting, particularly focusing on trauma therapy.
- Experience with trauma-focused interventions and various therapeutic methodologies will be highly advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
