Remote Licensed Mental Health Counselor for Diverse Clientele

Connect Serenity Counseling Services, Inc. is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) to join our remote team in Salinas, California. In this full-time position, you will be pivotal in supporting underserved communities, particularly focusing on Black birthing families, ensuring they receive high-quality behavioral health services. This role offers the flexibility of a fully remote work setting, allowing you to deliver services from the comfort of your home while maintaining a structured and fulfilling schedule. Our outpatient office environment is invigorating, with team members engaging in regular collaborative activities like clinical consultations and community outreach initiatives. • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments, developing individualized treatment plans for clients, particularly Black birthing families.


• Provide one-on-one counseling and case management services, focusing on the mental and emotional health of clients during and after pregnancy.


• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary prenatal care team, including medical providers, midwives, and lactation consultants, to ensure integrated and high-quality care.


• Facilitate co-ed childbirth education and postpartum peer support groups alongside experienced birth workers to engage clients in a supportive learning environment.


• Participate in community engagement efforts to promote holistic wellness, fostering a sense of community and shared support among clients.


• Complete all necessary clinical documentation efficiently, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.


• Actively take part in clinical consultations and multidisciplinary learning opportunities that enhance team cohesion and knowledge sharing.

Your primary focus will be working with Black birthing families, addressing the unique cultural and emotional challenges they face. By understanding their experiences, you will help navigate their mental health needs during critical transitional periods in their lives. Our goal is to provide an equitable support system, reinforcing connections within the community and promoting comprehensive health.

• A master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited institution is required.


• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) is mandatory.


• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within diverse, multicultural, and interdisciplinary teams.


• Excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor when interfacing with clients and colleagues.


• Self-motivated with a strong ability to manage time effectively, seeking assistance when necessary.

• Previous experience working with clients in high-risk populations or community health settings is highly desirable.


• Familiarity with holistic health practices and community health models will be beneficial.


• Experience facilitating group sessions or educational workshops is a plus, especially in maternal health.
