Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of clients to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of their mood disorder symptoms, utilizing standardized assessment tools as necessary.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their unique goals, preferences, and circumstances.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address mood disorders.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and self-care practices that can promote mental health.
  • Monitor and document client progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure their evolving needs are met effectively.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations, collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
  • Stay current with the latest research and developments in the field of mood disorders to continuously enhance treatment strategies and client outcomes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and accurate documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities focused on addiction counseling and related areas.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients facing a variety of mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You will provide essential support to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including vulnerable populations such as refugees, homeless individuals, and survivors of domestic abuse. Your role is crucial in helping them navigate their challenges, cultivate resilience, and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications
  • Possess a current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
