Accounting Manager

As a rapidly growing company, we are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and support the continued growth of our business. This position is responsible for overseeing general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and cost accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities of the Accounting Manager include:
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections, fixed assets, Inventory accounting, and cost accounting.
- Provide leadership, coaching, development, and performance management for accounting team members.
- Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, controls, and documentation.
- Drive accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement across the accounting function.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reports.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Partner with FP&A and business leaders to provide accurate financial information and analysis.
- Improve close efficiency, accuracy, and reporting consistency.
- Lead inventory and cost accounting activities, including standard costing and variance analysis.
- Maintain product costing methodologies and support inventory valuation processes.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Sales to improve gross margin visibility and financial performance.
- Support inventory controls, cycle counts, physical inventories, and reserve analyses.
- Oversee AP, AR, credit, collections, billing, and cash application processes.
- Monitor aging collections, disputes, deductions, and cash management activities.
- Establish and track key performance indicators for transactional accounting functions.
- Strengthen internal controls and fraud prevention processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and eliminate manual work.
- Partner with IT and business leaders to improve ERP utilization and reporting capabilities.
- Lead process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
- Develop documentation, workflows, training materials, and process controls to support scalability and business continuity.
- Support external audits, tax reporting, lender reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with US, GAAP, and company policies.
- Evaluate control risks and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting governance.
To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.Strong expertise in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, cost accounting, inventory accounting.Experience leading accounting teams and managing multiple priorities.Advanced MS Excel and ERP system experience.CPA, CMA, MBA or equivalent advanced credential preferred.Manufacturing, distribution, multi-entity, or international business experience.Experience with ERP implementations, process automation, and business intelligence/reporting tools.Experience supporting audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
