Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough initial assessments to understand client concerns and collaboratively develop tailored treatment plans that address their unique challenges.
  • Facilitate one-on-one therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness strategies.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to provide comprehensive and holistic treatment.
  • Participate in regular training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and stay abreast of industry best practices and advancements.
  • Play an active role in program development and quality improvement initiatives by sharing insights from client experiences and suggesting innovative approaches.
  • Utilize electronic medical records systems for accurate documentation and to maintain confidentiality in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to clients in distress, ensuring timely and effective response to their immediate needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mental health research and trends to inform your practice and treatment modalities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work closely with a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, and families, presenting with a wide spectrum of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and relationship struggles. Your ability to connect empathetically with clients from various backgrounds is critical in fostering a safe therapeutic environment where they can share their experiences and work towards healing.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Maryland.

Preferred Experience

  • At least two years of experience providing counseling services to individuals facing emotional challenges, although this is preferred rather than mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly with clients, utilizing excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems, enhancing operational efficiency and documentation standards.

Compensation and Benefits

Our full-time counselors will receive a competitive annual salary between USD 115,000 and 130,000.
