Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments and screenings of clients to understand their unique backgrounds, focusing on their substance use history, mental health status, and specific treatment requirements.
- Create customized treatment plans that address both addiction issues and underlying psychological conditions, ensuring a holistic approach to client care.
- Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI), promoting effective coping strategies.
- Work collaboratively with a diverse treatment team, including healthcare professionals such as psychologists, nurses, and case managers to provide integrated care and comprehensive support.
- Educate and involve clients’ families, helping them understand the recovery process and the impact of their loved one’s addiction, while offering necessary support to enhance treatment outcomes.
- Maintain meticulous and confidential client records that are compliant with relevant regulatory and ethical guidelines, ensuring data integrity and protecting client privacy.

Qualifications- A valid Maryland state license as a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
- A master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Specialized training or experience in addiction counseling and substance abuse treatment methodologies.
- A comprehensive understanding of evidence-based practices for addressing substance use issues and co-occurring disorders.
- Exceptional therapeutic skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients and motivate them through their recovery journey.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, essential for effective collaboration with the treatment team and providing holistic care.
- Previous experience in a community health clinic or substance abuse treatment setting.
- Familiarity with the specific challenges faced by diverse populations in addiction recovery.
- Knowledge of mental health regulations and ethics relevant to practice in Maryland.
- Experience with telehealth platforms and remote therapy delivery.
