  • Manage employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary matters, documentation, and policy interpretation

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and monitor regulatory changes

  • Partner with outside legal and HR advisors when additional guidance is needed

  • Oversee benefits administration, including health and welfare plans and 401(k) programs

  • Manage relationships with benefits brokers, carriers, TPAs, recordkeepers, payroll providers, and other HR vendors

  • Coordinate the payroll process, including reviewing payroll for accuracy, managing employee changes and deductions, and working with the payroll provider

  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, employee records, and the employee handbook

  • Support general HR operations, employee questions, and ongoing HR initiatives

  • Partner with leadership to identify HR needs and provide practical solutions

  • Coordinate with outside partners supporting a small international employee population as needed

  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience preferred

  • Strong hands-on generalist experience within a small or lean HR environment

  • Strong employee relations, HR compliance, and employment law knowledge

  • Experience with benefits administration and 401(k) plans

  • Experience overseeing and reviewing payroll processes

  • Strong vendor management experience

  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll, benefits, and retirement systems

  • Paylocity experience is strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred

  • SHRM, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus

  • International HR exposure is a plus but not required

  • Retail HR experience is a plus
