Outside Sales/Territory Manager- Oil & Gas (Haynesville, Eagle Ford, and Permian Basin)
Job Description
You must have prior success selling technical equipment or services to pressure-pumping companies, E&P operators, or drilling and completions teams in a highly competitive market. You understand well-pad operations and the economics of a completions program. You are comfortable talking with completions engineers, drilling managers, field supervisors, procurement teams, or the company man. An engineering degree is helpful but not required; our technical team will support you once a customer is engaged.
You have a proven track record of prospecting success and can clearly explain how you build and maintain a full pipeline. You understand that growing a territory takes time, and you are excited to tell us how you will build this one across the Haynesville, the Eagle Ford, and the Permian Basin over the next two to three years. This role can be based anywhere with good access to our basins, including Shreveport, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, or Southwest Texas.
Winning the first pad is only the beginning. You stay close to your customers, make sure our service is delivering, and earn the right to move with them from pad to pad (we win every pad based on our excellent service, not long-term contracts). You must be comfortable engaging multiple stakeholders to identify opportunities, build the business case, and navigate the approval process. To be successful, you must be a self-starter, accountable, driven, ethical, hard-working, personable, rejection-proof, and able to work well independently. You also need to work collaboratively with the rest of our team and be able to check your ego at the door.
You have exceptional listening and questioning skills, love to find and close new business, sell value instead of price, and develop long-lasting customer relationships. Your attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and tenacious follow-up enable you to sell effectively to both field operations and executives. You should be proud of your numbers and eager to tell us how your sales results make you the best candidate to join our team.
Experience with consultative or solution selling is helpful. This role will require regular travel across Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana, though much of the day-to-day work is done by phone and text with people in the field. You must have a growth mindset and be comfortable leveraging technology. This position offers a base salary plus commission with high earnings potential. You should have a track record of success on a variable compensation plan and a strong desire to earn more. These markets have tremendous growth opportunities, and we know the right salesperson will thrive with this tailwind at their back.
