Position Summary

Annandale Millwork and Allied Systems Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outside Sales Representative to develop new business opportunities and grow existing customer relationships throughout the Greater Richmond, Virginia market. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building components, lumber and building materials, a proven track record of achieving sales goals, and strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with builders, contractors, and commercial customers.


• Identify and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory.


• Manage and grow existing customer accounts through regular job site visits and customer engagement.


• Help internal departments to Prepare accurate material estimates, quotes, and take-offs from construction plans and blueprints.


• Collaborate with inside sales, operations, and management teams to ensure exceptional customer service and timely delivery.


• Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and project opportunities.


• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to maximize sales growth.


• Achieve or exceed established sales and profitability goals.


• Represent the company in a professional manner at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.


• Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and credit procedures.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in lumber, building materials, construction products, or related industries.


• Proven success in developing new accounts and growing existing business.


• Strong understanding of residential and commercial construction practices.


• Ability to read blueprints and perform material take-offs.


• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.


• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.


• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.


• Established relationships within the Richmond-area builder and contractor community.


• Experience with estimating software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications.


• Knowledge of engineered wood products, millwork, doors, windows, and framing materials.
