Physician Revenue Cycle Manager

Role Description The Physician Revenue Cycle Manager oversees end-to-end revenue cycle operations for physician practices, including charge capture, coding oversight, claims submission, payment posting, and follow-up on accounts receivable. The manager reviews and analyzes denials, implements corrective action plans, and collaborates with clinical and administrative teams to improve documentation, coding accuracy, and billing workflows. Daily responsibilities include monitoring revenue cycle KPIs, preparing performance reports, managing payer relationships, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and payer policies. The role also involves guiding staff on best practices, supporting process improvements, and partnering with leadership to optimize financial outcomes through technology-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong Revenue Cycle Management skills, including charge capture, claims processing, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up.


• Experience in Practice Management, with the ability to coordinate front- and back-office workflows and support operational efficiency.


• Expertise in Denials management, including root cause analysis, appeals, and implementation of preventive process improvements.


• Knowledge of Medical Coding and documentation requirements to ensure accurate billing and compliance.


• Understanding of Managed Care contracts, payer rules, and reimbursement methodologies.


• Relevant experience in physician practice or healthcare revenue cycle leadership, preferably in a multi-specialty environment.


• Proficiency with practice management systems, billing software, and data reporting tools; familiarity with AI-enabled or automated RCM solutions is a plus.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.


• Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to train and mentor staff and work across clinical and administrative teams.


• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
