Senior Medical Director - Cardiology

We are looking to connect with experienced Medical Affairs professionals interested in Senior Medical Director opportunities within cardiology at a leading global pharmaceutical company.




The Senior Medical Director will provide medical and scientific leadership for cardiovascular products and programs, helping to shape and deliver the US medical affairs strategy. Working closely with global and regional colleagues, the successful candidate will support evidence generation, scientific engagement and the communication of clinically meaningful data.




Key responsibilities



  • Develop and execute the US medical affairs strategy for cardiology products

  • Provide medical and scientific expertise across the product lifecycle

  • Lead evidence-generation activities, including real-world evidence and investigator-sponsored research

  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals and professional societies

  • Support advisory boards, congress activity and scientific exchange

  • Review and communicate clinical and scientific data

  • Partner with clinical development, regulatory, market access and commercial teams

  • Provide medical input into educational materials and internal training

  • Ensure all activities meet relevant medical, legal and regulatory standards




Ideal background



  • MD

  • Strong expertise in cardiology or cardiovascular medicine

  • Medical affairs experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

  • Understanding of US healthcare and medical affairs practices

  • Experience developing medical strategy and engaging external experts

  • Strong scientific communication and cross-functional leadership skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a global matrix organization




Experience in heart failure, hypertension, thrombosis, lipid disorders, cardiometabolic disease or another cardiovascular field would be particularly relevant.
