The Opportunity

Our client, a large, publicly traded global organization seeking an experienced External SEC Reporting Manager to support its Global Controllership organization on an interim basis. The team is open to both contract and contract-to-hire candidates. This individual will play a key role within the External Reporting team, supporting SEC reporting, technical accounting, statutory reporting, and financial reporting controls for a complex, publicly traded global organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with 10-Q and 10-K preparation, U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and technical accounting research. This position will also have exposure to complex accounting matters including stock-based compensation, derivatives, M&A transactions, debt and equity transactions, and IFRS/statutory reporting.


Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and coordination of SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K, including financial statements, footnote disclosures, and MD&A

• Monitor new accounting and SEC standards and evaluate their potential impact on financial statements and disclosures

• Support statutory reporting requirements, including IFRS and international reporting considerations

• Identify and communicate key U.S. GAAP-to-IFRS differences

• Perform technical accounting research and document accounting conclusions and positions

• Maintain and enhance internal controls and SOX-compliant reporting processes

• Assist with disclosure checklists and adoption of new accounting standards

• Direct XBRL taxonomy selections and filings

• Supervise, coach, and review the work of financial reporting staff

• Coordinate requests and inquiries from internal and external auditors

• Support technical accounting projects involving stock-based compensation, derivatives, acquisitions, dispositions, pension plans, and debt/equity transactions

• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and other accounting teams

• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls, and overall efficiency


Required Qualifications

✓ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

✓ Active CPA required

✓ 6–8+ years of SEC reporting and technical accounting experience required

✓ Experience with a publicly traded company and/or public accounting experience supporting

SEC registrants

✓ Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance

✓ Hands-on technical accounting research experience

✓ Ability to prepare and clearly document complex accounting positions

✓ Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

✓ Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight reporting deadlines

Preferred Experience

• Previous management, supervisory, or project leadership experience

• IFRS and statutory reporting exposure

• Experience supporting a large global organization or foreign operations

• Experience driving reporting, control, or process improvements
