About the Company:

American Engineering is adding Summer Interns to our design teams with a strong interest in Land Development who are eager to be part of a growing engineering firm.

Not sure exactly what type of civil engineering you want to do? We might be a fit for you. We don't pigeon-hole our staff, especially our new grads. You may get a chance to work on a variety of project types.

We have reasonable expectations of our interns. We stress collaboration and sharing of teammates between our departments.

About the Role:

New staff will be part of engineering design teams in Land Development or Municipal / Infrastructure Departments or transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Embrace the hands-on American Academy training program


• Have an intellectual curiosity


• Ask a lot of questions of the numerous PEs on the team


• Work on a variety of project types


• Collaborate and share with teammates between departments

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or something similar


• Minoring or Interest in land development or water / wastewater or transportation


• Graduating Class of 2027 or Class of 2028


• No experience necessary but relevant internship experience highly encouraged.


• Must be willing to commute or relocate to the Charlotte, NC region. This role is on-site.

Required Skills:

• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Introduced to software such as AutoCAD or Civil3D
