Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Criminal Defense Attorney. The attorney will manage a caseload of criminal matters, conduct client consultations, and provide ongoing legal advice and guidance throughout each stage of the case. Daily responsibilities include reviewing evidence, performing legal research, drafting motions and briefs, negotiating with prosecutors, and preparing for hearings and trials. The role also involves appearing at virtual court proceedings where permitted, for in-person hearings when necessary, and maintaining detailed case files and records. The attorney will collaborate with firm leadership on case strategy, ensure compliance with professional and ethical standards, and contribute to the firm’s reputation for strong, committed defense work.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law and Criminal Law, with the ability to interpret statutes, case law, and procedural rules.


• Demonstrated experience in Criminal Defense Law and Criminal Defense, including handling pre-trial, trial, and post-conviction matters.


• Advanced legal Research skills, including fact investigation, legal issue spotting, and effective use of legal research tools.


• Active license to practice law in relevant jurisdiction(s), in good standing with the state bar.


• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, including motion practice, brief writing, and courtroom presentation.


• Ability to manage multiple cases remotely, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.


• High ethical standards, sound judgment, and commitment to client-centered representation.


• Experience with remote work technologies, secure communication tools, and digital case management systems.


• 5+ years of experience in criminal defense practice is strongly preferred; clerkships or internships in criminal law are a plus.
