When needed, WCE partners with a network of Boise-based specialty sub-consultants to augment its in-house capabilities and deliver comprehensive solutions.


Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Civil Engineer role based in Boise, ID. The Civil Engineer will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of civil and water resources projects, including abandoned mine land remediation, stream restoration, water treatment, and intake structures. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing design calculations and plans, supporting permitting and regulatory compliance, coordinating with project managers and other engineers, and developing technical reports and specifications. The role also involves performing field investigations, assisting with construction oversight, and collaborating with internal team members and external stakeholders to resolve engineering challenges and maintain project schedules and budgets.


Qualifications



  • Independent, adaptable, and highly motivated.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare technical reports.

  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree (minimum) or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Environmental or Civil Engineering.

  • Experience working for/with federal or state agencies is a plus.

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification with an up-to-date 8-hour refresher or ability to obtain it before starting work.

  • Civil Engineering Design skills for site layout, grading, utilities, and related infrastructure, using industry-standard tools and methods.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; EIT certification preferred, PE licensure or progress toward PE is a plus.

  • Proficiency with CAD and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, on-site environment.
