Finance Attorney
Build closer client relationships and take greater ownership of sophisticated financing transactions.
An established Chicago law firm is seeking a finance attorney to join its transactional practice. This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys complex deal work and wants a broader role in advising clients, managing transactions and developing lasting relationships.
The practice encompasses commercial lending and real estate finance, with opportunities to represent borrowers and lenders and collaborate with colleagues across corporate and real estate.
The role
• Advise on secured and unsecured lending transactions, including acquisition financing, refinancing and credit facilities
• Draft and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, guarantees and related transaction documents
• Manage transactions from initial structuring through closing
• Work directly with business owners, financial institutions, investors and real estate clients
The ideal background
Experience in commercial finance or real estate lending, strong drafting skills and the ability to move transactions forward with sound commercial judgment. Attorneys with a more concentrated lending background who want to broaden their practice are encouraged to express interest.
Why consider a move?
For an attorney whose current role centres on executing individual parts of a deal, this offers the prospect of greater transaction ownership, closer partner collaboration and more direct involvement in the client relationship.
