VP of Operational Excellence & Strategy

Position Overview

Our Professional Services firm is seeking a strategic, analytical, and results-driven VP of Operational Excellence & Strategy to partner with executive leadership in driving operational excellence, financial performance, and long-term growth. This leadership role will work across all practice areas to improve business performance, identify growth opportunities, and lead initiatives that enhance profitability, productivity, client service, and market expansion.

The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with a data-driven mindset and a passion for continuous improvement. A background in sales, business development, or market development within a professional services environment is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with executive leadership and practice leaders to develop and execute strategic initiatives that improve firm performance and support growth.


• Analyze operational, financial, and business performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.


• Evaluate workflows and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, productivity, and client service.


• Develop and maintain executive dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to measure organizational performance.


• Collaborate with department leaders to establish performance goals, monitor progress, and implement improvement initiatives.


• Prepare executive reports, business analyses, and strategic recommendations for leadership meetings.


• Support strategic planning through forecasting, goal setting, performance tracking, and execution of key initiatives.


• Lead cross-functional projects that improve collaboration, resource utilization, and overall business performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.


• Minimum of 10 years of experience in business strategy, operational performance, business analytics, strategic operations, or management consulting, preferably within a professional services organization.


• Proven success driving operational improvements, business performance, and organizational growth.


• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business strategies.


• Experience developing KPIs, executive dashboards, and performance reporting.


• Previous experience in sales, business development, market development, or client relationship management is strongly preferred.


• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools is preferred.
