Role Description This full and/or part-time, on-site Dental Hygienist role is based in Binghamton, NY. The Dental Hygienist will provide comprehensive preventive dental services, including dental prophylaxis, periodontal assessments, and non-surgical periodontal therapy under the supervision of the dentist. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing medical and dental histories, performing oral health screenings, taking and reviewing radiographs, and educating patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care. The role also involves maintaining meticulous clinical notes, adhering to infection control and safety protocols, and collaborating with the dental team to coordinate patient care. The Dental Hygienist will help ensure a positive patient experience by offering compassionate chairside support and clear explanations of recommended treatments.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of Dentistry and Dental Care principles, with the ability to apply best practices in a specialized setting.


• Strong Hygiene and Dental Prophylaxis skills, including routine cleanings and periodontal probing.


• Experience identifying, assessing, and managing Periodontal Disease within the scope of dental hygiene practice.


• Active state license as a Dental Hygienist with current license to administer local anesthetic and nitrous oxide, and current CPR certification.


• Proficiency with dental software, digital radiography, and standard clinical instruments.


• Excellent communication and patient education skills, with the ability to explain oral health concepts clearly and respectfully.


• Commitment to strict infection control, OSHA compliance, and professional ethics.


• Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate, detailed records.


• Prior experience in a general or family dental practice is preferred but not required.
