Why Join Imerys in Quincy?

Looking for the ideal balance between high-impact operations leadership and an unmatchable Pacific Northwest lifestyle? Situated in central Washington between Seattle and Spokane, Quincy puts you minutes from world-class outdoor recreation—hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping right at the edge of the Cascade Mountains.

As our Mine Manager, you will take full operational ownership of our 40-acre Diatomaceous Earth (DE) scraping and reclamation site. Whether you are an experienced Mine Manager or a high-performing Mining Engineer / Sample Driller ready to step up into site management, this role offers full leadership backing, direct ownership of capital and operating budgets, and the chance to lead a dedicated on-site team.

Key Responsibilities & Impact

  • Site & Operational Leadership: Lead a team of 15 direct reports across daily surface mining operations, ore control, crushing, and reclamation.

  • Fleet & Equipment Execution: Oversee fleet management, heavy equipment maintenance, utilization performance, and site logistics—the core engine of ground execution.

  • Mine Planning & Surveying: Develop and maintain short- to mid-term (1–5 year) mine plans aligned with long-term site guidance using AutoCAD and mine planning software.

  • Drone Mapping & Tech Integration: Utilize an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107) to conduct aerial drone mapping and stockpile estimations.

  • Financial & Compliance Ownership: Manage annual capital and operating budgets, negotiate vendor/service contracts, and ensure strict MSHA (30 CFR) and environmental compliance.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

  • Education: B.S. in Mining Engineering, Minerals Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related discipline preferred.

  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in mine operations, mine planning, drilling, or heavy civil/minerals execution.

  • Leadership Potential: Strong leadership presence and communication skills. Prior team management experience is a plus, but we are fully prepared to mentor a strong technical candidate into leadership!

  • Technical Software: Familiarity with mine planning software, AutoCAD, MS Excel, and project management tools.

  • Visa Eligibility: TN Visa candidates welcome to apply.

Compensation & Perks

  • Base Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience)

  • Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus eligibility

  • Relocation: Relocation assistance available

  • Schedule & Travel: Monday–Friday schedule with minimal travel (~5% for education/training)
