Fund Finance Associate Attorney
Job Description
NAV lending went from a niche product to the fastest-growing corner of fund finance in about three years, and the lender side associates who can paper a NAV facility from scratch are now scarcer than the deals.
A Global 100 firm with a market-leading fund finance practice is hiring associates (2–6 years) in New York. Cravath scale — $235K–$390K depending on class year.
You'd represent banks, alternative lenders, and investment vehicles on the lender side of highly structured, bespoke financings across asset classes — drafting the documents, not just running the checklist — in a group that's growing fast enough that mid-levels get real deal responsibility early.
The work includes:
- Subscription line and NAV facilities for private equity, credit, and secondaries funds
- Asset-backed and secured lending across a range of fund and portfolio structures
- Hybrid and bespoke facilities, including GP and management company financings
- Derivatives and structured transactions layered onto fund financings
What you bring:
- 2–6 years of fund finance, secured lending, structured finance, or derivatives experience
- Reps drafting credit agreements, security documents, and related deal documents on complex financings
- Real appetite for structured, non-template work
- New York bar admission or eligibility
What you get:
- A lender-side fund finance platform that keeps growing through the cycle, since sponsors need liquidity whether or not exits are happening
- A specialized, portable skill set with direct in-house paths at banks, credit funds, and secondaries managers
- Cravath scale ($235K–$390K depending on class year), plus bonus eligibility
