Tax Advisor

Year-round, full-time · CPA or EA preferred · Eau Claire / Bloomer, WI

Keystone is growing on both the advisory and tax sides of the firm. We’re looking for a year-round, full-time tax professional who wants to spend more time consulting with clients than processing returns.

Compliance still matters—returns need to be right—but the heart of this role is planning. You’ll sit with families and business owners, work alongside our financial advisors, and help clients act on tax, retirement, entity, and year-end decisions before the return is even on the desk.

• Enjoy explaining tax results and planning ideas in plain language

• Value integrity, accountability, and a small-team environment

• Lead tax consulting conversations: projections, estimated taxes, entity structure, retirement and year-end planning

• Partner with our financial advisors so tax, investment, and estate decisions stay connected

• Prepare and review individual, S corporation, partnership, and related returns as part of a complete client relationship—not as a high-volume processing function

• Research federal and Wisconsin issues and document positions clearly

• Help improve planning deliverables, checklists, and workflow as the tax practice grows

• Experience in a firm or planning-oriented tax practice, with comfort in both client conversations and technical work

• CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred; candidates sitting for the exam or building toward credentialing will be considered

• Working knowledge of individual and pass-through taxation; Wisconsin experience is a plus

• Comfort with professional tax software (UltraTax CS experience is helpful) and standard office tools

• Willingness to work in person, year-round, from our Eau Claire or Bloomer area offices

• A year-round consulting role inside an integrated planning firm—not a seasonal prep shop

• Starting salary of at least $80,000; total pay and bonuses depend on experience and production

• Support for professional licensing and continuing education
