Wireless Network Engineer - Quant Trading infrastructure

A leading quantitative trading fund is expanding its core infrastructure team to support the next generation of ultra-low latency market access. Renowned for its algorithmic edge and continuous investment in custom technology, the firm operates across all major global financial markets at high frequency.

As a Network Engineer, you will own, automate, and optimize the firm’s live, high-frequency wireless tower network connecting key trading hubs across the US:

• Maintain live topology maps, path visualizers, and health monitoring tools to ensure zero packet loss across line-of-sight routes.


• Build production-grade Python automation scripts and telemetry pipelines that proactively identify potential connectivity degradation.


• Perform real-time troubleshooting, outage response, and performance tuning on microsecond-sensitive, production infrastructure.


• Direct field crews, vendors, and tower operators on physical upgrades, spectrum adjustments, and path optimization.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in RF, telecom, or network operations.


• Practical Python coding experience for automation, device integration, and data pipelines (building tools used by other engineers, not just one-off scripts).


• Solid foundation in RF fundamentals (path analysis, signal modulation, spectrum analysis, interference, antenna systems) and network engineering (routing, multicast, L1 optical, SNMP, out-of-band management).


• Hands-on proficiency in Linux/UNIX environments, advanced shell usage, and git-based workflows.
