Finance Associate - Energy


Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid)




Piper Maddox is partnered with a rapidly growing, sponsor-backed infrastructure platform. This role offers exposure to executive leadership and investors while supporting the financing, valuation, and growth of critical energy infrastructure projects across the US.




The business is looking for a talented Finance Associate to join their team. This position provides a unique opportunity to work across project finance, treasury, corporate development, and strategic initiatives within a growing platform.




Key Responsibilities:



  • Build, maintain, and enhance complex project finance and corporate financial models for infrastructure investments

  • Support corporate valuation, strategic planning, and M&A analyses

  • Prepare investment committee presentations and financing approval materials

  • Assist in debt and equity financing processes, including lender and investor diligence

  • Support transaction execution activities across project and corporate financings

  • Monitor project and corporate cash flows, liquidity, and treasury operations

  • Develop cash flow forecasts and assist with capital planning initiatives

  • Analyze financing structures, market trends, and capital markets activity

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across finance, development, legal, and regulatory teams

  • Conduct financial analysis to support business growth and strategic decision-making




Qualifications Required:



  • 2+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Corporate Finance, Project Finance, or a related field

  • Experience within renewable energy, utilities, power, infrastructure, or energy transition sectors

  • Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to build models from scratch

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, or a related discipline

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
