Director of Indirect Tax

A growing engineering and construction company is hiring a Director of Indirect Tax. The position offers the chance to lead complex sales and use tax work, with long-term advancement potential as the business expands.

Responsibilities

• Lead indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax returns.


• Oversee indirect tax audits and resolve related issues.


• Advise on the tax treatment of bids, purchases, billings, contracts, and exemptions.


• Partner with accounting and operating teams on tax matters.


• Monitor tax law changes, improve processes, and support the tax integration of acquired businesses.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of indirect tax experience, including substantial U.S. sales and use tax experience.


• Experience applying sales and use tax rules to construction operations.


• Leadership experience at the Senior Manager or Director level with compliance, audits, and taxability matters.


• Strong communication skills across tax, finance, and operating teams.


• Ability to work in Carmel, Indiana, or Miami, Florida. Miami-based hires must travel to Carmel for at least one week per month.
