Role Description The Personal Lines Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Urbana-Champaign area, responsible for overseeing the personal lines department and ensuring effective management of client accounts. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising personal insurance policies, reviewing coverage options, and guiding clients through renewals, changes, and new policy placements. The role involves managing underwriting submissions, coordinating with carriers to secure appropriate coverage, and monitoring policy performance for accuracy and compliance. The Personal Lines Manager will lead a small team, set service standards, support training and development, and maintain strong customer service practices. Additional tasks include handling escalated client issues, supporting agency growth initiatives, and contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Insurance and Personal Insurance, with experience handling home, auto, and other personal lines products.


• Demonstrated Customer Service skills, including clear communication, empathy, and the ability to resolve complex client inquiries.


• Experience in Underwriting-related work, such as assessing risk, reviewing applications, and collaborating with carriers on coverage terms.


• Account Management capabilities, including policy maintenance, renewals, cross-selling, and maintaining accurate client records.


• Relevant insurance licenses (such as Property & Casualty) or the ability to obtain them within a defined timeframe.


• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in an insurance or financial services environment is preferred.


• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with agency management systems and standard office software.


• Ability to work on-site in the Urbana-Champaign area and collaborate effectively with colleagues and carrier partners.
