Software Development Engineer – SSD Firmware Validation & DevOps

Location: Longmont, CO

Pay Rate: $50–$60/hour on W-2

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to support SSD firmware validation, test automation, and CI/CD development for SSD Product Security Infrastructure.

This is a hands-on engineering position combining software development, automated testing, DevOps, and infrastructure technologies. The engineer will help develop and maintain the tools, automation, and continuous integration processes required to validate SSD firmware and support ongoing product security engineering initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of software development experience with strong exposure to testing, test automation, DevOps, Kubernetes, and CI/CD environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support SSD firmware validation and testing activities.


• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions.


• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines supporting SSD firmware validation and Product Security Infrastructure.


• Develop software, scripts, and automation to support engineering and testing activities.


• Work with Kubernetes and related infrastructure supporting automated development and testing environments.


• Analyze software and system requirements to understand functionality and expected behavior.


• Support integration between software, firmware, hardware, and testing environments.


• Develop software using appropriate programming, scripting, and/or database technologies.


• Troubleshoot software, firmware validation, test automation, and CI/CD issues.


• Identify and correct programming errors and test failures.


• Develop software enhancements in response to evolving engineering requirements.


• Support software testing, deployment, maintenance, and ongoing evolution.


• Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards.


• Utilize source-control and build-management processes.


• Apply software development best practices throughout the development lifecycle.


• Improve test coverage, automation, reliability, and engineering efficiency.


• Collaborate with development, firmware, validation, DevOps, and product security engineering teams.


• Support ongoing engineering commitments and business-critical validation activities.

Required Qualifications

• 5–7 years of software development engineering experience.


• Strong software development and programming fundamentals.


• Hands-on software testing and test automation experience.


• Experience developing or maintaining automated test frameworks and solutions.


• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices.


• Hands-on experience with CI/CD development and automation.


• Experience with Kubernetes.


• Experience with source-control management and modern development workflows.


• Experience with build processes, testing, deployment, and production/engineering operations.


• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to work across software and infrastructure components.


• Experience applying software development best practices, including:
