Overview

In this role you will guide clients on BIG tax positions, document and support positions during examinations and appeals, and drive business development and team initiatives. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to improve processes and deliver effective tax consulting. You'll stay current on BIG tax developments to optimize client outcomes and contribute to firm growth. This position combines technical leadership with mentoring and client relationship building, within a collaborative, growth oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct necessary research and produce memos on identified topics
• Ensure client compliance and minimize tax and reporting burdens
• Develop and implement solutions to maximize BIG tax benefits
• Represent clients before tax authorities and respond to inquiries
• Maintain deep understanding of BIG tax issues and identify cross specialization opportunities
• Understand ASC 740-10, FAS 109, FIN48 standards and apply them to BIG positions
• Develop and propose strategies to advance client and firm positioning and growth
• Supervise and develop BIG Senior Associates and Associates, delivering coaching and performance feedback

Key requirements

• Bachelor (degree) required
• Degree in accounting, tax, or finance preferred
• Masters preferred
• Five or more years of experience required
• Experience supervising tax consulting professionals required
• Experience in BIG tax consulting preferred
• Experience with tax provisions preferred
• Experience with corporate taxation, consolidations, and partnerships preferred
• CPA preferred
• Enrolled Agent preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel and Word; tax software and research databases like Caseware, GoSystems preferred
