Road Machinery & Supplies Co. (RMS) is looking for a Mining Support Manager to join our team in Negaunee, MI. This is a key customer-facing role where you’ll serve as a trusted partner and primary point of contact for assigned mine site(s).

As Mining Support Manager, you’ll work closely with mine operations, maintenance teams, planners, and other key stakeholders to understand their needs, improve equipment uptime and reliability, and connect customers with the right RMS resources and solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on equipment performance, customer satisfaction, and overall mine productivity.

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background, knowledge of mining and heavy equipment, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with mine operations, maintenance personnel, planners, and other key customer stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary RMS resource and trusted partner for assigned mine sites, helping identify equipment, parts, service, and support needs.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve equipment availability, reliability, and productivity.
• Develop and drive action plans focused on equipment uptime and reliability.
• Lead monthly customer action-log reviews and meetings to ensure priorities and follow-up items stay on track.
• Participate in daily and weekly mine-site meetings and communicate customer needs and priorities to the appropriate RMS teams.
• Serve as the on-site RMS resource for coordinating and prioritizing activities that support the customer.
• Drive equipment reliability initiatives, including root-cause analysis and failure-analysis processes.
• Partner with RMS teams to support warranty administration and recovery efforts.
• Maintain strong working relationships with RMS OEM partners and coordinate resources as needed.
• Work with mine planners and maintenance teams to assist with parts and component forecasting.
• Coordinate customer training requests and help ensure training needs are addressed.
• Assist with GET/RDT inspections and related customer support activities.
• Identify opportunities to proactively address customer needs and strengthen the overall RMS customer relationship.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

What You’ll Bring

• 2-year technical degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience supporting mining equipment, heavy machinery, or a related industry.
• Working knowledge of mine operations, maintenance, and planning processes.
• Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand equipment performance and reliability issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with people at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying solutions.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and work with various systems and technology.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to take ownership and drive results.
