Accounting Manager - Renewables

Location: Manhattan, NYC (Hybrid)

Piper Maddox is partnered with a private equity-backed independent power company headquartered in New York City. We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join their growing finance team.

This is an opportunity to join a lean, entrepreneurial team and play a meaningful role in building out the company's accounting infrastructure as the platform continues to acquire and integrate new generation assets.

Responsibilities:

• Own and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and approximately 20 balance sheet reconciliations across a multi-entity organization
• Maintain the general ledger and recurring technical accounting schedules
• Manage and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice review and coding, weekly payment runs, and coordination with plant operators
• Support treasury activities, including payment processing, bank account administration, and cash activity tracking
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external audits and tax filings, including PBC requests and first-year opening balance support
• Assist with monthly financial reporting packages, variance analysis, and management reporting
• Play a central role in the implementation of the company's new NetSuite environment, including accounting data migration and reconciliation
• Help develop and document accounting processes and internal controls, including journal approval workflows, segregation of duties, and access reviews

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience within power, energy, infrastructure, xevrcyc or a related industry preferred
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and full-cycle accounting
• NetSuite experience REQUIRED
• Strong Excel skills
• CPA or CPA candidacy is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
