Business Analyst

Overview:

This Business Analyst role sits within Operations, focused on improving and automating processes across the trade lifecycle. The person will work closely with Operations, Trade Support, and Technology to understand business needs, gather requirements, and identify manual processes that can be improved through AI and automation. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll use Python, SQL, and tools like Claude and ChatGPT to build lightweight automations and AI-assisted workflows, while also owning the traditional BA responsibilities around requirements, testing, and documentation. They’re looking for someone who understands financial services/trade operations, but is also technically inclined and excited about applying AI to real business problems.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Produce comprehensive requirements documentation and functional specifications for platform enhancements.
• Conduct in-depth data analysis across asset classes to identify process gaps and support implementations.
• Engage in design reviews, user acceptance testing, and production rollouts with Technology teams.
• Design and maintain lightweight automation tools using Python, SQL, and AI frameworks.
• Prototype AI-assisted tools, refining workflows through prompt design and testing.
• Monitor and troubleshoot desk-built solutions, ensuring reliability and operational effectiveness.
• Document processes and solutions to support scalability and production readiness.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align priorities and deliverables effectively.
• Enhance data quality and analytical capabilities through proactive process improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with 2–5 years of experience in financial services operations or business analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and process automation.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI tools for workflow automation and prompt design.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle across various financial products and asset classes.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality requirements documentation and collaborate throughout the SDLC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable for technical and senior audiences.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities independently.
• Proactive, self-starter mindset with a strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity.
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a team-oriented approach.
